PUPPY/DOG CONTRACT

Hanna M. Harrison Sellers known as “the seller” or “breeder” will give a 6 (month) general health guarantee -I warrant the puppy is in good health at the time of purchase and leaving for their new home.

At the discretion and expense of the buyer, the buyer can choose to have a puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian, in good standing practice with the state in which they are licensed within THREE days of receipt of puppy.  If, as a result the examination and proper documentation, the veterinarian determines the said puppy is not in good health, then the buyer may return the puppy to the seller for a full refund of purchase price, not including shipping, return costs, or vet fees.  Hypoglycemia, intestinal worms, Giardia, and coccidia hip/elbow dysplasia (which can be caused from too high of protein food and or too hard of playtime) are NOT covered.  The latter three are common intestinal parasites found worldwide; 100% parasite-free cannot be promised. Also, the stress of change of environment, and removal from familiar surroundings can cause parasite overgrowth and diarrhea.  Diarrhea with or without a small amount of blood is the most common side effect of changing families.  Most clear on their own within a couple of days without any antibiotic intervention, while others may need some antibiotic to settle the intestine and create a balanced flora.  Yogurt or pro plan fortiflora can be used to help as well.  I have a strict deworming process to prevent intestinal worms.  Written verification by the veterinarian by any disease found must be present to the seller prior to return of puppy. After three days from purchase, the buyer assumes full responsibility for the puppy’s health and development.  This contract is void if buyer fails to complete all necessary vaccinations, a minimum of three deworming’s, and give heartworm prevention medications as directed by your veterinarian.  All of our precious puppies are dewormed every two weeks from week two and then receive TWO DHPP-PV Vaccines at 5 and 8 weeks old before leaving.  I the breeder do the Vaccines at home.

The seller guarantees, free of life-threatening genetic defects, until 6 months of age.  Warranty expires after puppy is 6 months of age.  Hereditary and genetic defects are determined by the examination and confirmation of two qualified veterinarians.  All costs of the veterinarian examination and other charges will be absorbed by the buyer.  Cryptorchidism is not covered under this congenital health Guarantee.  We do not breed any dogs with any known defects.  We try very hard to adhere to the breed standard and as we do not allow visitors to our home (for our family’s safety) we are more than willing to FaceTime and or meet in a public place. If said puppy develops a life-threatening genetic health condition within 6 months of date of birth, the seller will, upon receiving documentation of the vet reports, provide the buyer with one of the following options if applicable: Buyer may return a puppy and receive a replacement puppy of like quality (but not necessarily the same parent but cost of equal value) from the available next litter.  Costs and related expenses of returning the puppy to the seller shall be buyers sole obligation or.... buyer may keep the puppy.   If said puppy dies, there MUST be a necropsy done stating the exact cause of death.  If it is genetics, there will be the option of a replacement puppy.  If it is congenital stating that puppy died from an environmental cause, there will be NO refund. Said buyer is encouraged (but not required) to take puppy/dog to a licensed veterinary with-in 72 (hours) of purchase for an exam. If said puppy/dog is diagnosed with Parvo/distemper than with proof from veterinary results will have option of a full refund (excluding veterinary bills, delivery fees) or new puppy of choice.

Buyer agrees that he/she is not acting as an agent in the purchase of a puppy and the puppy will reside at the home of the buyer.  The puppy will have access to a fenced yard, electric or mechanical and will not be chained or tethered as a daily routine and will be provided with proper housing, diet, exercise and vet care.  The buyer agrees to provide necessary vaccinations and adequate health care, including dental care, and heart worm medication.  Yearly checkups and vaccinations are required and should be brought-up-to-date on health record provided at time of purchase.  Buyer also agrees to keep puppy in a safe environment and not allow the puppy to run at large in their community under any circumstances; every state has enacted ordinances regarding dog control failure will void the warranty.

If, for any reason, buyer is unable to keep the puppy at any time, the seller shall be given first right of refusal.  At the sole expense of the buyer, the puppy shall be returned to the Seller’s possession and control.  The buyer shall execute all necessary documents to transfer ownership back to the seller.  All monies paid for said puppy shall be forfeited with the understanding that the time and effort to have raised this puppy thus far and ability to have sold puppy previously may have already been lost but the best interest of the dog is what both parties, Buyer and Seller agree to.

Social media clause:  I understand and acknowledge that: I will not post or share information or photos of about puppy issues between breeder and new owner (but encouraging to post positive feedback and family photos of puppy/dog) discussing activities, or online in any form such as: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc ...
